Creating a matter in Actionstep creates the SharePoint folder structure for it, under the right site and library, using your template. Matter type can drive the template, so a conveyancing file and a litigation file get different trees.
Two-way file sync
Files saved to the SharePoint matter folder from Word, Outlook or Teams show up on the Actionstep matter; files uploaded in Actionstep land in SharePoint. Edits sync both ways.
Permission mapping
Actionstep matter access maps to SharePoint folder permissions, so ethical walls and restricted matters hold in both systems.
Workflow-aware
Actionstep’s step changes can trigger SharePoint actions: a matter moving to “Closed” can move its folder to an archive library and apply your retention label.
